Convotherm proudly sponsored Bocuse d’Or – a two-day competition which saw 24 young chefs from around the world head to Lyon in France to compete for the top culinary award after sixty national rounds. The teams used state-of-the-art equipment from Convotherm to showcase their culinary skills.

Crem launched at NAFEM Show!

An extra special show which takes place only every other year, NAFEM 2019 didn’t disappoint! Over 10,000 industry experts gathered in Orlando, Florida to exchange ideas on current trends and experience the latest innovations. Our highlights: launching super coffee brand Crem International to the US market and hosting a series of packed workshops including ‘Welbilt World of Connectivity and Automation’. And let’s not forget the cocktail event we hosted for our Manufacturing Representative and Distributor channel partners. See you in New Orleans in 2021!

Celebrating trailblazing women in STEP careers – and an award for one of our own!

Established in 2012 to celebrate the impact of women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Production (STEP) careers, the STEP Ahead Awards are ones to watch. Our very own Alejandra Bonillas, a Mechatronics Engineer in Monterrey, Mexico, scooped up an Emerging Leader STEP Ahead Award at the annual gala held in Washington, D.C. for her innovative work on the Zume pizza project – turned around in just four weeks, with a tech patent filed to boot!

Serving up new launches in Hamburg

Bringing innovation to the table around the world, our German team showcased a raft of new launches at the 93rd edition of Europe’s leading tradeshow for foodservice and hospitality, Internorga. Over 95,000 visitors joined the event in Hamburg where our booth was packed with kitchen innovations including Convotherm’s mini black series, Crem International, R290 coolant models of Manitowoc Ice and the sparkling new counter-top over from Merrychef, the eikon® e1s.

We’re dubbing March double award month!

Adding to the string of awards for our teams, a huge congratulations to Cassie Johnston, who picked up the Women’s Foodservice Forum (WFF) Change Maker Award, making March a double award month for Team Welbilt! Starting as an intern at Manitowoc eight years ago, Cassie has since launched four new products and is responsible for two global product lines, all before reaching the age of 30! Now that’s some #inspo to take into 2020.

ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award – marking our 10th year!

One of our proudest moments in 2019: the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy recognized our decade-long commitment to ENERGY STAR at a ceremony hosted in Washington, D.C, where we earned the Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award. What an honor! We continue our commitment to creating innovative energy-efficient foodservice equipment, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and protecting the environment. We look forward to continuing our sustainability journey in 2020!

Hotelex

In April, we returned to Hotelex Shanghai, the leading foodservice and hospitality trade fair in China. Our mission? To inspire and advise a whopping +146,000 visitors at the international show. Our chefs gave attendees a flavor of tomorrow’s kitchen today!

NRA Kitchen Innovations Awards

At the centennial National Restaurant Association (NRA) Show 2019, Manitowoc Ice Indigo NXT® and Merco Visual Holding Cabinet with Tray Tracking Technology® were announced as Kitchen Innovations (KI) Award Recipients. What wowed the judges? The award committee recognized Indigo NXT as the only ice machine available today to use environmentally-friendly R410A refrigerant, which has 48% less global warming potential than previous models and the Merco VHC with Tray Tracking Technology for its automated timers that connect with trays—and if you need to move the tray, the timer electronically stays with it, tracks to the new location, and continues counting.

Learning about all things Welbilt at Brand Training!

40 dealers joined us to learn about our innovative foodservice equipment across ten brands - and taste some of the delicious products of course! The 2.5-day program was packed with sales and marketing information, hands-on equipment training and even networking time in the evenings. Stay tuned to apply for 2020 training in March, June and September.

Another month of double wins!

September brought two extra awards. We were thrilled to be named Large Business of the Year at the 33rd Annual Pasco EDC Awards. A super endorsement of our commitment to growing and cultivating an active role in the growing Pasco County business community. Andy Coniglio, Welbilt’s Corporate Executive Chef, received the most prestigious award at the American Culinary Federation (ACF) in Tampa Bay - Chef of the Year! The award highlights Andy’s passion for creating stunning food, as well as educating and mentoring the next generation of chefs.

The annual event is a brilliant opportunity for students to see innovation in action and talk to the experts behind our cutting-edge technology – and be inspired to join the Welbilt family in the future!

Launching Merrychef Ready Recipes

Merrychef, our high-speed oven brand, unveiled the innovative Ready Recipes, a downloadable, resource which provides hundreds of recipes at the click of a button, perfectly tailored to the product portfolio. Boasting a library of over 600 recipes, the digital resource also features show-stopping recipes created by top chefs from around the world!
 

Welbilt wowed at NACS in Georgia

The world’s largest convenience store show sprawled across a whopping 400,000 sq. ft., and every minute was packed with opportunities to learn, buy and sell, network - and have fun! Our favorite bit? Serving cozy seasonal beverages with Crem and wine-based blended beverages with Multiplex!

The particular software update for Convotherm 4 gas units has to be done by an authorised service partner (there are adjustment steps necessary).

Please ensure that only software which is suitable for the unit series is installed on your Convotherm unit. This software cannot be used for other unit types from the range. If this is disregarded, no liability will be assumed for malfunctions.
